23 hp B&S runs then dies

I put a new Argo carb on,,it ran about 10mins and died,,let cool a minute , started and ran 20yds -died. Towed back to the barn. Does a 650 Frontier have a motor overheat switch??

Letting it cool down and will try to start later tonight ????????

I would first check the float level in the carb. Yeah it's new, but that doesn't mean it was adjusted correctly. next check the fuel pump pressure and flow. Also see if fuel lines are restricted from the tank. Sometimes they swell or kink and don't let enough fuel flow for anything but idle.

What year is it?
Fuel filter?
Have you tried removing the cap and listening for a grasp? There is a tank vent line that can get pinched or blocked. Vent hole is a favorite spot for mud to collect and block vent also.

2012 year. I had the hood off and it has a clear fuel line and filter ,both new and I took the cap off the tank. ??? I don't feel it's a fuel issue.

What issue were you having that led to replacing the carb?

It had been sitting for 2 yrs ,,rebuilt the carb, but still didn't run right.

does it have a antibackfire solenoid in the carb? Definetly sounds like a fuel supply issue.

No solenoid

Run it again until it dies. Immediately pull the spark plugs and see if you are getting fire. Rule out heat related issues with the ignition. But it doesn't seem like it's running long enough to get good and hot.
