You are so right about small engines. Went to Briggs school a few times, held a Briggs MST (Master Service Technition) , did Koher school, Echo school and been playing with small engines for 50 yrears. Still don't know sh#t about them compared to a lot of guys on this forum. Soooo much experience and guys, probably a few gals, willing to share the knowledge with others. Not only engines but every thing related to this hobby. So thanks to all. I will keep you updated on the engine installation. Hope to find a belt today.

Finally. Got the engine installed......for the 4th time. Pulled the trans/engine mount and set it on the work table. Got the belt aligned properly. I then tacked the mount plate to the original mount, pulled the engine off the plate, welded the mount solid and hoped everything was lined up. Long story short.....it actually works quite nicely. I would have had a lot less grief if I had spent the extra few bucks on a different primary clutch but I didn't. I will know if it was worth the hassle once I put the tracks on. All said and done, I am only down about 300 bucks for the installation. Good thing I don't count my own labour costs. Next project.... the steering. Winter thing after deer season.
