  • Avenger Heater blower motor replacement?

My heater blower motor finally died. I went to order a new motor and see on the argo site that it is crazy expensive as it is only available as the whole kit. (Part #848-170 >$500). Has anyone tried replacing the electric blower motor only?

Thought I would throw it out there before spending the money.

Just an FYI if anyone needs it for future reference, you can actually purchased just the replacement motor. Its part#540111 from Argo. (I was told you couldn't before I posted the question). I will take the motor info off the old one and try to cross reference also.

Yah, they are okay. My dad loved the canopy as he was often cold as he got older. I had the canopy up a few years ago hunting with him when it was about -20. With the heater on it kept the cab warm enough that he was happy. You will still need a jacket, but it took the chill off when driving. My friend has the half cab, and he says the heater makes the cab toasty warm even in -30. I'd believe him as I've used his machine in the fall, and even the heat of the engine keeps the cab warm.

Honestly, I use the heater more to just have a warm air source when its cold. I was hunting in the mountains a few weeks ago and realized my heater motor had seized. I really missed that warm air circulating.

Overall, Id say its worth the money and if (when) I get a newer machine, I definitely would get the kit again.

I cross referenced my heater motor to a Murray PM339 which I purchased from eBay. I then transferred the fan from the old to the new,t exact motor.
