  • New to me Old 1980's Argu - Chain broke/no tensioner

    Hi,
I have a new to me 1980's argo 6x6 with tracks. Seems like a previous owner removed the tensioner on one side and overtightened the chain. I made a sharp turn and the drive chain snapped.
My question - should I add the original tensioner kit "647-10 - CHAIN TAKE-UP REPLACEMENT KIT" or should I use/upgrade to the newer adjustable K-100 COARSE CHAIN TENSIONER KIT (1997 - 2021) .
For either of these, are there other parts that I will need to install (there's nothing where the tensioner should be on that side.) Besides a new chain, I guess.

    Thanks

I personally would probably stick with the original style as that was what was designed for that particular application. As for parts missing, check the other side to see what all you need.
