Argo drive line question.

First off I just wanted to say this is a great site with loads of great information for someone new to the 6x6 world.
A few months ago I bought a used 1998 argo vanguard and I have been learning alot from this site on how to work on it. I was performing some maintenance on it and had it lifted off the ground and was letting it run slowly to lube the chains and I noticed that only the right side tires were driving and the left side would turn once I increased the speed but it was slower than the right. Is this normal I thought that all the wheels should be turning at the same speed. When I applied the brake to the right side the left would turn. Any help or comments would help a newbee like me. Thanks

The argos have a limited slip tranny. You will find that it doesn't hinder the performance of the machine. If you are going through the mud and one side starts spinning just apply the brakes to that side and it will pull from the other side. After you play for awhile you will find that these machines are unstopable! Good luck and have fun! Seth

what you found with it on blocks is normal. the argo trany has a differential, so it was putting power to the side with the least drag. when your running, the drag is near equal to both sides, so it will pull with both.

Yes, thanks for the good info. I've been scanning the posts to see if a problem I have has been addressed...this one about the left and right sides turning at different speeds. I have a 1988 Twin with tracks and a 16 hp Briggs. Now that the snow is well over 18 inches deep, I have twice had trouble climbing up steeper grades in the new snow. My left side was driving and the right side was just sitting there. Put it in reverse and away it goes. Go forward and when it gets stopped, just the one side moves. So, now I will take it back out and try what I have learned here on this thread. Thanks again guys.
