That BigFoot was pushing up piles of snow 6' high,,,with just the RawHides on too,,,,I will admit,,,am kinda busy in the seat,,Raise/Lower winch,,reverse to low,,steering and throttle,,,,after a while son got in,,ran the winch,,,plus more weight,,,Pushed real GOOD then ! Later,,,,,Mark

Argo used to have an old picture on their site, a six wheeler with 2 or 3 executives, pulling a semi cab and trailer. The tires were wrinkled up like drag slicks.

here in buffalo we got 1 1/2 feet of snow fri an inch more on sat and 3-4 inches over night.... and its still coming down today! i just bought a plow for my max and this weekend is the first time i got to use it! im very impressed with how mutch snow it pushes!!! ive got 5 ft piles in the front and back yard!!! i was worried that the rawhide 3s would just spin in the deep stuff but its fine the only complaint is that the plow frame sits so low i get hung up on the big stuff that the city plow pushes in the end of the driveway but as long as i take little bites its not bad .....im still learning the limits of this setup!

plowing

this afternoon we started into our first noreaster of the season. They are calling for 18 inches. I just went out and plowed the start of the storm and we have about 4 inches so far. No problem. Pushed right through it Last week we had about 6 inches of heart attack snow( real wet and heavy). Pushed right through that too. These things are unstopable!!!

couldn't6 be happier with the performance!!

I just got my plow today , works great so far. I think I have a lot to learn. I admit that I got stuck on top of a big pile of snow at the bottom of the boat ramp. Maybe I won't do that again! This is a fun way to plow snow.

Just cleaned up after the second storm! About 12 inches in the low spots and 16 inches in the drifts. The banks are 6-7feet high and I didn't get stuck once. This is my 2nd year and I still love it.... my neighbors love it to!

well the noreaster left us about 18 inches of packed snow(from drifting). I went out in the morning and started. Had to make about 4 passes over the same spot because the snow came off in layers. Still did good though untill the winch cable broke

. I guess I need a few cable clamps in my storage space. Well anyway I got out the tractor (55 horse new holland) and finished up quick. The tractor works good for pushing the piles back in prep for the next storm.

Stuck Plowing

Hello Philip: I've also been stuck a few times while plowing. If I hit a snow pile too fast(taking a run at it) the blade will ride up on the snow and my machine will high center on the belly. Only happened a few times with the tires on but not with the tracks. Pushes more snow with tires. Tracks tend to spin easier but still work excellent. If we didn't get stuck once in a while then we would never get to use our winches.........

Thanks drev59. I was riding with Yellow Argo very recently and I know that there was towing involved in a marsh at one point. I,m not saying who was towing who,but...

Chapy, my friend put a cheap winch on the plow itself, he already has one on the machine but wears the roller fairlead too much. He unplugs the stock winch and plugs the plow mounted winch into the same plug .Has a more level pull with the winch mounted high on the plow,less wear on the cable and doesn't wear out his main winch. I am thinking seriously about copying him.

being a wrecker opperator i have some of those i think they 2'' straps i pull all the cable off my winch and use this 2 inch strap about ten feet long taped to the spool with the cloth type duct tape and use that insted fo the cable becouse the would over lap and end up braking about every ten drops of the blade and i havent broke a strap yet and i have done it for five years now same strap eaven it works good

Not bragging at all, just commenting on my personal growth.

The first year I plowed I got stuck so many times I carried a shovel in the back and it wasn't for added weight...

That ride was a lot of fun and the kids say thanks for the XMas card it was great. Definitely a keeper!

I agree with the cable being a bit fragile. Broke it 3 times last year. I will be relocating a smaller winch on the plow itself in the near future if my mechanic is not to busy. LOL

I was thinking about doing the seprate winch . My plow that I bought has a winch on it for a power tilt so I could use that one and just sacrafice the power tilt. Not sure how to hook it up anyway. Also the strap idea is great too. I could do that and still have the power angle too

. Hmmm? Now I have to think about my best options.
