  • throttle and brake levers

anyone put a thumb style throttle on before and if so how well do they work. get sick of using the twist grip, the wrist gets numb after a bit. another thing i was gonna ask is.... has anyone ever modified the brake levers to run further to the right? with two in the front the brake levers get annoying being so far to the left(center) i might try and heat the tubes and bend them to the right or cut and weld on a 90 degree riser on to situate them different.. any ideas????

I thought about bending the handles down a few degrees to make them feel more like a steering wheel than handle bars. I think that would do better for the hands going numb. I get the same thing after awhile.

never thought about it in my argo. my Terra Tiger has a thumb throttle from an old jet ski... works well, but my thumb gets sore after a while

i think its just my preference or what im used to.. never did alot of riding on bikes and such but sleds and 4 wheelers and im just used to the thumb throttle.. another idea ive read on here was the straight brake lever. anyone ever tried that?? might be a little more comfortable to grip on long rides?

            Thumb throttle

A buddy used a thumb throttle from an late 70s ski-doo ,mounts with a pin through the handle bar.just drill a hole!he likes it.my argo has a tension adjustment on the bottom so i can put to the setting i want and not worry about it(IE in water, set rpm and just lean)i was just starting to brake 1 side in this pic to come alongside a buddys boat(2nd pic).on Lake Erie!

Thumb throttle works good .I have one. On your levers, you can cut them off, so that they are 2 inches tall. Then weld a coupling pipe on it with your 2 90's like you were talkin about. I extended mine something like that.

Hey on my old skipper i just used an old brake handle off a bicycle for the throttle. Seems to work pretty good i just had to bend it a bit so i could get full throttle but i don't mind it.
