Here is a link to the Argo site that tells about all the differences in the vehicles. It is a spec sheet for them. As far as a comparison of the two vehicles i own and Avenger and really enjoy the machine. When used in the industry arena with tracks they have had some problems. With out tracks and used as a recreation setting they are great. The Frontier i have not owned but there are site members that may chime in and give their opinions. One item i know that it does not come with is the skid plate and that is several hundred dollars. Where as the Avenger has a factory installed one. There are other differences, so check them out this may answer a few of your questions.
Lewis
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"
picking it up tomorrow. -40 with the wind chill here in Manitoba today. forecast for -7 celceus Sunday. Hope to have it out ice fishing this weekend. Pictures and reviews will follow.
The Frontier is a great machine with plenty of power with the 23 HP Briggs engine but does not generally come with a full skid plate nor rear bearing extension housings. These are optional items. As Lewis stated the skid plate is several hundred dollars as well as the rear bearing extensions. This machine works well with either plastic super tracks or the 18 in rubber tracks and creates less problems with the lower undercarrage while running tracks when compaired to the Avenger. Problem is that once the extra accessories are installed the price starts to approach the price of the 700 Avenger. The 650 Frontier 8x8 is only 3 HP less than the Avenger 700 and is air cooled rather than liquid cooled.
Have a great day all
What I like is the 23 briggs. That 23 could be 35hp, and not even break a sweat. Weigh a lot less than an avenger, less front heavy too. Whippers yellow spider is based on a 23 block. But, that's not for everybody.. just the few, the proud..
