1984 Argo 8 wheel

I need to replace the tires on my 8 wheeler. The stock tires were 20" and wonder about what is the largest size I can put on the 1984 Argo when not running tracks.

22x11x8 i believe is the biggest, i have a complete set on rims if yor interested

I'm not positive, but I think your Center to Center distance for your axles should be 24". In which case you should be able to fit 24" Frontier Tires (Actually measure about 23.5"-23.75"). I have them on my Conquest.
Be warned, they are a very tight fit and they are not perfectly round. This can cause issues:
1) I had a bugger of a time mounting mine so that tires did NOT rub as high spots came togeather. It's best if you air them up, then measure each circumferance. Mine works best with smaller ones on front/rear axles and larger ones on center axles.
2) With tires this close togeather, you HAVE to keep an eye on axle brngs. As soon as a bearing starts to loosen up, you run the risk of tires rubbing togeather .

These tires are the "HOLY GRAIL" of AATV tires (For my riding conditions......I know some members here don't feel the same way, but they work for me). I have not tried any tires that I would describe as "better", as a matter of fact, I have not tried any that even come close.

I believe Argo changed the size of all the lowers as of 1989 when the Magnum came out so all the pre '89's actually have less wheel well than a conquest or magnum but i could be wrong

I think i'm going to have to replace mine as well WHNTR. I put tubes in all 8, then put supertracks on. went for drive in deep snow for 2 hrs. and when i came back i had 3 flat. just front and rear ones. My questions are Do i use some type of sealer or go new? The tires are in good shape other than the cracks causing slow leaks.Is there other types i can get that would work with supertracks?Running 22x10x8 runamucks right now.I would like to hear all comments on this. Slimed

Mike, you might try the slime, if all you are having is crack issues. Use the recommended dose. This may hold you off for a while. Inner tubes don't seem to work well. Put the ones that don't leak on the outer corners. Just a thought and may get you by for a while.

hey, Mike they sell tire slime at canadian tire on smyth street in fredericton.
The slime works well, I have it in all my tires.

I put 22-11-8 Duro on my 1982 8x8 they worked really well, got them for about $50 a piece they are also 4 ply I wanted to have a tougher tire and less chance of punctures the ride is a bit harder but not unreasonable. I think the model of tire was 246 or something like that good traction and turns fairly well.

My tires are Duro's as well, i think they are called Mud Buster's, the directional ones, they work real well for the money
