  • Argo front chain tensioners?

I have a 2000 or 2001 Argo Bigfoot as I forget on the year(from new), anyway I was wondering if anybody has installed or fabricated a chain tensioner for the very front two chains in an Argo. Or is it better to just change them completly.

Just looking to save a buck, but don't want to sacrifice longivity on the machine either.

    Just my opinion.
I would change the chains, if they are that loose, they are stretched/worn out. Leaving them on will just wear your sprockets. Then you will have to buy both sprockets and chains.

    Just a note:
If your sprockets are worn, you can get more life out of them by swapping them from one side of the Argo to the other. (wear occures mostly on one side of the sprockets teeth. Swapping from one side to the other, will flip the sprockets around, bringing the "fresher" side of the sprocket teeth into play)
I'm sure most of you guys know that, but some might not.

RD knows some of "my" ideas

I had the brilliant idea of swapping idler shafts side to side.
