  • Argo Parts For Ak..dont Get Screwed Anymore!

Ok so as im sure most of you argo owners in alaska know we get raked by our dealer here. I went down there 8 months ago and asked what the price for an argo winch mount would be and he quoted me 750$ just for the mount! no brushguard or nothing. I thought that was crazy. Well i remember when i was in wyoming they had an argo dealer in colorado. Well i call this guy up and he say's 174$ for the argo winch mount. The man also lets me know he gets shipments in every couple of weeks by semi truck so if you need a part he gets free shipping when he buys in bulk which saves us shipping charges. He'll only charge you what priority mail is to ak. Fellas all season argo sucks, do yourself a favor and buy from ed at argo outdoor sport in colorado. He only deals with argo's no 4x4, argo only and make custom tops/cover. Great guy to deal with too heres the link. Lets make all season argo give fair prices to us all! take care fellas

Welcome to ARGO Recreational Equipment, your Rocky Mountain athorized dealer

I hear you, and it's to bad, I like to support Alaskan business, but I can take only some much too. I haven't sworn them off completely because I may need something I can't wait for, and they have given me some maintenance adv. from time to time, but I try order and have on hand what I think I'll need.

I hear ya. I ordered some seals, and gaskets from them, the price for them was reasonable. But asked the price for bearing and he said 50-60. I ordered my bearing from Richard's relics. After future looking I found them allot cheaper still. I do believe in supporting your locals and buy in state but not for the price.
support your local search and rescue unit and get lost.

I hear you there, It's good to suport the local instate guy's but why on earth would you charge 4 times as much for parts??? It's kinda of like gas prices, when they go up that high you know someone is getting the short end of the stick.

ED the guy at outdoor argo was saying the dealer here called and bad mouth thehim about his prices being lower and he was loosing buisness. Ed charges normal mark up to make a profit not a KILL'n. It's fair compitition and i know where im ordering my parts from now on. No need to be greedy, wouldnt you want your costomers to recomend your prices and service? Just dont understand. I guess if he's the only guy in town he thinks he can charge what he wants. Pretty sad when i can order the parts and priotity postal for 3 1/2 times less than what this guy charges.

Hasn't anyone reported him (dealer in Alaska) to the Alaska Attourney General for unfair business practices? Also, I would think that kind of Dealer should be reported directly to ODG. I would not think that ODG would like this kind of person for making a bad name for Argo parts and accessories.

Maybe I'm wrong about that, but if I lived in Alaska and had bad dealings with a guy like that, I'd turn him in to any office I could think of. Like, make complaints about this guy to the local area Chamber of Commerce. Also, don't forget about the Better Business Beurea (sp?) BBB. etc, etc, etc...

Perhaps if he was under so many different investigations, he might learn that his prices being astralogical is what is causing all these problems, and might teach his dumba** a lesson.

If that didn't work, I'd start a nationwide campaign of Boycotting this particular Dealer, to where he loses all business. Name him on public boards like this one, and tell your story. Believe me, If I saw something about a particular business on a board, I'd listen to it, and find someone else to deal with who is fair.

ODG will not do anything. He is the largest Argo dealer in the country and maybe the largest individual dealer in the world. I had the same problems when I owned an Argo.

Well, Akexpress, good luck there with your Mudd-Ox Business Venture. It's a great looking machine.
I'm currently an argo owner, who cannot afford to own more than one machine, so I feel for my fellow Argo-nians.

I'd see if the guy had a Certification from the BBB, and if so, hit him with so many complaints, it would definately not be funny. I would also write a letter about him and his business practices to the Alaskan Attourney General's office and Local Chamber of Commerce. AND personally, if I lived there, Since I hate any company that practices unfairly, I'd also write up a letter to the U.S. Attourney General. Why stop at the state level. Those kind of prices for parts to me, should be called "Price Gouging". If it's illegal for Gas Stations, it should be illegal to all companies, no matter what they sell.
                Seriously!!!

I personally can't do the paperwork, as I've never met him, nor have I ever had any dealings with him, but you Argo owners in Alaska shouldn't put up with that.

                Just my honest opinion/suggestion!!!

I just called that guy again today and he was stuttering when i asked why his prices are so HIGH. He said that guy i talked to sells at cost, i asked how he's making a living then??? I told him 4 times more expensive is rediculous, and he said thats what it cost him for parts from ODG. I was born in the dark but not yesterday, he's crazy. Thats a really good idea about writing letter adn seeing whats up, Worst thing that could happen is someone tell us we cant do a thing about it. Well in the meantime i know where I'll be buying my parts from.
