Argo ?

G/day, i am hoping someone can help. The only numbers on my argo 8 wheeler are on a small tag on the firewall- TB2927. It has high & low speed trans & 18 hp Briggs . Just need to know what year it is. Trying to post pics. Regards Sweetpee in Oz.

Looks like the first year of the TB model 1977 or 1978, that is an interesting intake setup on the engine, looks like someone retrofitted a newer carburator on it, oh and its not a Vanguard, they are overhead valve engines

Thanks eightwheeler, i just edited that. Learn something new every day eh. I am yet to see another 6 or 8 wheeler in Western australia. It will mainly be used for beach fishing and prospecting. Cant wait to see how it goes in the sand dunes.

No problem. So how does it run with that carburator setup on your engine?

eightwheeler, sorry about the delay getting back to you. It starts and runs really sweet with that carb , instant response to full throttle. Runs SU fuel pump off a mini. Still waiting on wheels so havent driven it yet.
Maybe you can help me , the belt on it is that loose you can squeeze the top and bottom together. my question is, do you think the motor is original or did they come out with something else. If it is not original i will have to try and measure up a belt for it as the pulley spacing will probably be different to original specs. Hoping you or someone else can help. Regards Ken
