I was noticing the last two times I was out that the left brake on my 97 Response has what feels like fade to it. When I first get it off the trailer the left and right brake levers engage about the same time. But after I drive for and hour or so the left brake lever has to go further and further down to engage the brake. I have had this happen on a 100 plus degree day before on the right side but it was in the 30’s both days I drove it this time. Any thoughts on how to fix it? I use the DOT 5 fluid for high temp applications and I thought the reservoir was full. I did replace the left side brake caliper this summer after the bleed off nipple striped out. Could there still be air in the line?

Brake Question/Problem

Country: I had a simular problem with my Conquest last summer. The right side brake would fade on occasion and if I held steady pressure on the levers the right would slowly keep coming back. After removing and disassembling the right master cylinder I noticed the seals on the piston had scars on the sides of them. After replacing the seals ( 2 "o" rings and a cup type seal) and reassembling the master cylinder the problem was fixed. A rebuild kit is available from your dealer and it was a fairly easy to install. hope this helps...........
