i took my tracks off today and i left my hub extensions on.. is it bad to leave them on?? i like the fact that if i want the tracks on i could just drive up and put them on.. and the extra few inches makes it more stable in the water...
    what do you guys think?

With the wheels out like that there will be slightly more stress on the frame, axles, and bearings of the machine, but if you have the extra bearings/cage assemblies installed on the vehicle, it won't be so bad. They'll take some of the stress off for sure. I'd say as long as you don't beat on it or try to do something like jump it you would be alright......just keep in mind you're wider than a machine without the extenders and to be aware of trees or other objects on narrow trails.

      Tracks

I was at Busco with the crowd and ran my tracks half the time. My did do better in the water and a smoother turn but I prefer the tracks by far. I will be servicing mine and adding half pads and half cleets soon. I will post some pics when I get them done.

I leave my extenders on and run 25x12x9 raw hides when I'm not running with my tracks. Have not tried to run the tires without the extenders (don't know if it will rub against the body or not)? It throws allot of mud. I'm still learning about my argo 2000 bigfoot.

I leave mine on sometimes too. It can help when you are riding on "Rutted Up" trails. Your machine will have a wider stance than what the rutts are, making it easier to keep your machine from dropping into rutts and getting high centered. Also, like you said, machine will be a little more stable in the water. It's easier to grease outer brngs and seals.
Downside: You will be wider than the trail, and may not fit between some trees/rocks. Tires will sling mud into your machine, and all over your back/shoulder.

Having had 3 hubs tear off an axle while deep in the bush, I would recommend not leaving on extensions. In my case it was with rubber tracks, and at different times, but it's quite the pain to limp back home on less than full set of rims/tires. The argo is a fairly stable platform, and you will end up causing more opportunity for damage as those tight spots will become tighter with the wider stance.
            My 2 cents.
