I got it at Rocky Mountain about a year ago for my Rhino. I think I gave about 400.00 for it. Cougar

Alot of interesting opinions on where winches are made. With all the differences, I think things are turning more torwards a better warranty is replacing a reputable name. But as one member stated, when your a** deep in mud, it's not a good time to find out your winch isn't reputable.
I use a "Bearclaw" 3000 on my T-boss, and it does it's job. Yea, it's jap made, but the one time it failed, one phone call (to US located support) had a new replacement in the mail. FREE! No parts issues, no questions, just a complete unit. I've used my winch many time for many different tasks, and as I said, it does it's job. In my opinion, the key to successful pulls is useing the winch correctly. Your rated maximum pulling power is rated with your cable wrapped at 1 layer on the spool. As your layers increase, your pulling power actually decreases. If you have a 3000 lb rated winch with 50 ftof cable, that means it will pull 3000 lbs OF RESISTANCE or dead weight with all 50 feet of cable off the drum. (Granted you leave 3 or winds on the drum) A fully spooled drum is capable of approximately 1/2 the rated capacity of the winch. I always run a two-to-one line, to assure I am never overloading my winch regardless of how much cable I am useing.

It's all just nuts and bolts.
