  • It Runs It Moves!!

I finally finished getting my argo 6x6 back together. (That darn work gets in the way) The tecumseh didn't co-operate all that well at first. A few adjustments and it seems to run fine. Then when I turned the key off it wouldn't quit. (II have to figure that out but thats minor) So off to the nearest mud hole. It wasn't all that deep but it would have been over my boots so for a maiden voyage it was great. Then a roll pin on the centre axle broke so back to the workshop. It was after 2 Saturday afternoon and the parts stores are closed in town. So off to Red Deer I go looking for the right size roll pins. 5 stores later all I can find is kits of 300+ assorted sizes, of which only 5 were the right size. $25 for five pins that didn't happen. So tomorrow when the real parts stores open, and hopefully back into the mud.
Whats a little gas to save a few steps!

Toss a couple bolts under the seat that you could use as temporary spares. At least you would be able to finish your ride.
were you in the thick of the mud when the pin broke?

I tried a bolt but the sprocket is to close to the hole, the head of the bolt wouldn't clear. I think its because it has dual chains. Any ways I bought 1/2 dozen roll pins and the boys and I were out playing again tonight. I managed to get my 12 and 17 year olds pried away from the electronic gizmos for a couple of hours. They even took turns and co operated. I did manage to get it high centred. They don't rock to good. I defiantly have to do something to take up some chain slack in the rear chains and get some kind of tensioner on them. Other than it doesn't shut off with the key it seems ok. (running it out of gas works)

Sorry, forgot to mention that you might need to grind off the side of the bolt heads.
