  • truck box frame to accept argo??

just wondering if anyone has added a frame inside the box of their trucks so you could fit an argo in? i have an eight wheel conquest and just wanted some ideas from other people if anyone has. could haul the thing around as is but it is on quite an angle towards the rear of the truck

Just build a platform in the back of the truck, that's the same hight as the wheelwells. A couple 2x12's doubled up for each ramp, steel hooks on the ramps, and chains on the platform frame. Hook the ramps on the chains, and you're good to go.
Be carefull, it's not as easy to get up and down as it looks. I've seen guys fall off rigs like this more than a few times, especially with the ramps all slimed up. I recommend that you split a snowmobile track and screw the halves to your ramps for traction (Lugs out).
I only know a couple guys that still haul their Argos this way, everyone esle uses trailers.

Decks like that are getting to be super popular around here. Many different styles and designs to choose from. Most guys use them for hauling sleds. You can get aluminium ones that have sliding sides, for hauling one or two machines. I have an older model, 10ft long, with a steel frame.
Here is a link to one of the manufacturers around here:

My uncle used to use shipping pallets to get 6x6's level in the back of his truck. You may be able to get them free if you ask a local grocer. Just be careful for nails. It's not the prettiest way to go but, it's not bad in a pinch.

B.A looks like the one i wanted a few months back.. except this one was all aluminum. nice deck but a little pricey as for why i want to put it in the back of the truck and not on a trailer is, id like to be able to take the boat and argo/bike with me in the summer campin. nice to be able to fish the lake in the boat but there is alot of lakes around here that dont see much pressure and are only accessible by bike/argo. i built a frame today and seems to work alright. ya she is a little nervy goin up the ramps
