Now that I have the bracketry and winch how important is it to wire it up with the solenoids? Are they used to increase battery life? Do you need them if you use the winch while running the engine?
the solinoid is just a switch to compleat the current to the winch and is absolutly necessary.the amp draw of a winch is very high and will melt a reguler switch
