  • Argo Avenger Brake Problem

I’m replacing the brake pads on my Argo Avenger 750 EFI. After removing the old pads, one of the brake caliper pistons on the left side caliper was sticking a little so I used some brake cleaner spray and worked the handlebars back and forth until both pistons on that caliper were working smoothly. No problem pushing them back into the housing. The problem is when I started to work on the right side caliper both brake caliper pistons are fully extended and I can’t get them to go back into the caliper housing. There’s only a very small gap between the pistons and the brake disk and I can’t get them to move. So obviously I can’t install the new brake pads. Any suggestions? I’d prefer not to release any brake hoses if I can avoid it.

Brake cleaner can make the rubber seals swell up. I use alcohol as a caliper cleaner for that reason. Brake cleaner is realy just for degreasing metal parts only.
