Hi All I been on the hunt for an Argo for a while and saw a lot of to put it bluntly crap till yesturday. A dealer put me in touch with a guy who was upgrading to a new HDI and had a 1999 Response with 221 hours he had bought new that was for sale. Always interested in one owner stuff I made the 5 hour trip to see it. The Response turned out to be a exceptionally nice unit with a winch, windshield, bildge pump, outboard bracket and best of all a set of practically new tracks. We pulled the floor pans and everything looked good even the hard to get at front chains, it has been in dry storage since day one and it shows. Can you guys see any reason not to get a Response, does an 1999 have good axles, bearings and chains? The 18 hp seemed to run good and moved the 8 wheeler around pretty good but not sure how it well it will do with the tracks. I will need to buy 8 tires and straighten a couple of rims and I'm not sure what that costs but otherwise unless anyone thinks the Response is not a good choice I think I will go for this one.

Nothing wrong with a '99, drivetrain wise. If it's in good shape like you say, I'd get it. They didn't come factory with rear axle bearing extensions (like you see on the front) but they can be added. If you have the 18" wide tracks they would be good to have. Argo is coming out with a better tire to replace the runamuks, I'd wait for them.To Invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk. (Thomas Edison)

Thanks RS I called the guy and told him I would buy the Response, its hunting season and he is keeping it till his new HDI shows up which is suppose to be in a couple of weeks. I plan on looking at the new 22" Frontiers when they come out hopefully they will be a decent price. After the game the King and the Pawn end up in the same Box!
