  • 86 Argo Questions

Hi everyone, I just bought an 86 KB model Argo with a Kohler twin 17 hp. It was a coast guard environmental emergency response vehicle with 52 hours on it and has plastic tracks, windshield and outboard motor bracket but I don't think it ever seen salt water. It is in "like new" condition.

I've had 3 and 4 wheelers but never an amphibious and its been fun so far other than breaking the track and ripping the sidewall off a tire. I also need a set of rubbers for the master cylinder but the local dealer can't find anything under the model # KB6751. Can anyone tell me where I can find more information about this machine? Serial # 14101361.

    Thanks, Robby

Sound like you got a nice machine!!!! I have a 1985 KB model Argo 8x8. I replaced the rubber covers for the master cylinders a couple years ago. I got them from Leo's Argo Leo's Argo. They are Argo part number 186-09. I also got a parts manual for my Argo from Leo.

congratulations on your machine. wow, low hours. you have a real survivor there. usually a machine that age would have hundreds and hundreds of hours, and underwent a lot of abuse. I have a link you'll be interested in. here is your manual. (and others)

        Excellent purchase

I have the same machine and have the original service manual. I can figure out how to scan it for you but it may take a while,it has a few pages to it.
