  • can you tell me what i got???

    i just bought this today and it seems to run good but its my first one and i have no idea what it is or where to loom besides its an 8x8 argo. maybe if i know what it is i could get a service manual

    a serial number would probably help...

        well i hav eno idea where to locate the serial number i washed it up today and it has a kohler 618cc engine 2 stroke twin. this thing smokes alot is the gas mix supposed to really be 20 to 1?

            is 20 to 1 more oil than 40 to1?

              Yes it is more. 20 to 1 means 20 parts gas to 1 part oil, therfore 40 to 1 means 40 parts gas to 1 oil which is half as much oil that you are using. the older oils did not do the job the new oils do. There are some guys running chainsaws at 100 to 1. hope this helps. The serial plate should be on the dashboard (that's what i call it) above the shifter lever off to one side or the other.

                thanks for the info on the oil. this thing is hard to get parts for the small engine dealers dont have any idea what im talkin about when i say it has a 618cc kohler in it an da 2 stroke. they scratch their heads. i had to special order spark plugs

                    i dont see any plates on the firewall. is there somewere else i can find a number?

                      looks to be an early seventies argo, if you do not see a serial tag on the dash you may have a really tough time to identify it as i am not aware of any other spot they put it.
