      Sticks v/s handle bars

I would prefer the double stick steering. I have the bicycle style on the Avenger and had the sticks on the Conquest. If there is a kit to change over i do not know if it. You have more control over the machine with the sticks on hills and other types of terrain. Breaking is more effective and controllable with sticks. If a kit ever does surface i will change mine over to this system. I have talked with the Argo reps about such a kit, they wrote it down but as far as i know there still is not kit. The sticks also add to the fun factor.

Reason for the change is that everyone is more familiar with riding a bicycle and more people feel comfortable with this setup. I personally think it takes away form the machine. This is just my two cents after having one of both.

The down side Lewis with the 2 laterals for the Argos is the need to put your beer back in the gumball mount when you steer left. The handlebar gives you full capacity of your left hand to grasp the beer cosy.

I changed mine from sticks to the handlebar so i had somthing to lean onto when going up and down steep country, so I guese it's what ever spins your wheels.

I do wish it was a option on the machine to get one or the other, but as usual cost dictates.

              Lewis,

I,ve talked to a couple of my friends that used to own Argo,s with the two laterials , but now own Argo,s with the handle bar steering , and they still prefer the two laterials over the handle bar steering for the reasons you stated. "

I love the way this thing drives. However, the only reason I condidered this is because i figured out the climbing capabilities of my argo last weekend. While trying to roll back off the hill, I could see where you could easily get into trouble, and flip this thing backwards if you accidently pulled on the sticks. I think the handlebar style would lend itself to a "handle" to hold onto.

Keep in mind that trying to stop an Argo with a hand brake can be a little bit scarry as well, especially loaded with a trailer in tow. I too am a fan of the "Sticks", but see the attraction of "Handlebars for some people.

There is a kit available to change yours over, I've heard. Never seen one though.

I noticed something else this weekend while driving my Argo. Well, while actually riding and watching my wife drive.

Everytime she hits a bump, her arms were too rigid, and she would try and hang on to the "bars." This caused the breaks to engage, and ultimately caused a chain reaction of what I call "buck Jumping" Gas, breaks, gas, breaks....etc...etc..

I wonder what the cost of the kit is? are there any dealers on the board?

The way to drive argo sticks is sit up straight and lean against the sticks, pushing them against the dash. Plant your feet in the corners of the floor pan. Leave one stick against the dash when you turn. You can drive different, but for new drivers it's a good training style.
