  • Loose front sprockets on my 93 Argo

I have some slop in my front axle sprockets on my 93 argo, enough that I can see the key rock a bit in the keyway on the axle. Unless i'm really lucky and just the keys have worn down, the problem is the keyways on the shaft. I guess the best fix would be to replace the axles, but I wondered if I could have new keyways cut, or even drill through and pin the sprockets to the axles? I don't have any local argo dealers for parts, and i'd like to get it going without having to wait on parts since I plan take it duck hunting, but if thats what I takes, so be it. On that note, anyone have a ballpark of what sprockets and axles go for, and the best source to order from?
    Thanks, Mike

keys will wear first. new ones will definitley be better. if there is still some play, try setting your new keys with some loctite quick metal 660. it's good for up to .020" gaps. may at least get you through hunting trip till you have time to fix it
