  • Rear chain pitch? Help please, somethings not right.

Is the rear set of double row chain on my 93 vanguard 50-2 or a different size? The new chain doesnt really seem to seat in the double rear sprocket as it should. I was told that all the double row drive chains on my argo except the small front chains from the tranny were 50-2. But, the vanguard manual I downloaded says its rc60-1 which would denote a single row chain, so that can't be correct. Could the back chains possibly be 60-2 instead? Can someone please tell me for sure?
    Thanks.

Hard to say without pics, but I would guess that your sprockets are worn out.

Had a bad feeling that may be the case...I guess Argo is the only $ource for those too?

        Chain Prices

        Bro,

Look at my post labeled "deal of the century on chain"

You being in the gulf coast, might have a little more problem, (no agriculture) DO NOT order from Argo. Total Rip off, they're using china/japan crap, charging 10x the value, and not too many are happy. I got USA chain, in 50-2 for 3 bucks a foot.

I noticed my local Tractor Supply had links, half links, and 10 ft. sections of chain for the 60 sizes. It was around $42.00 for the 10ft.

        good luck.

On a related note, has anyone heard of 50A chain? I was told today that my argo used this chain, and it was different then 50-2, but I wonder if the dealer was trying to sell me the more expensive chain. Somehow a simple problem keeps getting more complicated!
