Hi just got back from moose hunt with09 efi avenger,big step up from previous 94 conquest,in price & performence.Good news,killed two bull moose in 3 days me & hunting partner big smiles.Went places humans have no place going.Efi works great for cold starts & fuel economy,first day went 70 km in low gear with tracks & alum cab still only used 20 liters fuel.Didn't even have to use vise grips on throttle for warm up.2nd day 38 kms from camp at dark & headlights would't work,luckly had a ram spotlight to drive back with,at camp found switch buggered up had one in tool kit so ok.Next day after just leaveing camp found 2nd tire on drivers side flat.Back to camp for spare,wasn't to bad drove up ramps ,removed 4 track L brackets got new tire installed,back on trail,killed moose 3.5 kms from camp quartered & loaded in back.Got looking at flat tire found small cut in sidewall?After getting back to town went to local argo dealer found my Rawhides are now discontinud?I asked when that happened they replied last year,I just ordered & picked up in feb?So now I have to buy 2 as if a guy installes just one on one side I'll get chain windup.I figure this kinda sucks after the $34000 I have into this machine that had 13 hrs on when I left & now has just 21.Not sure what to make of this.Any advice.tks robin

Sounds like you had a good time and have the right terrain for the Argo. The Avenger is a great machine for the work (fun) you have for it. We did get screwed on Goodyear discontinuing their ATV tires. Max still has and sells tires for their vehicles but they do not use 25" Rawhides (only the 22"). It seems to me that ODG or a dealer somewhere in North America would have one for you. Your machine is basically new so there is no need to buy two tires. Just replace the one and measure the circumference as stated in the Argo track manual. Remove the rear chains on your Argo if you have not already, it will really help relieve any chain binding.Everybody dies, but not everybody lives.

If your looking for Rawhide tires give Fritz a call - he is an ODG regional Rep here in the US.
Last time I spoke with him he had 50+ new Rawhide tires/wheels.

Thanks for all advice I noticed Maxrules mentioned removeing back chains?I'm basicaly new to chain drives,the way it is now is the way the dealer in Edmonton ,Alberta set it up.Today I lifted the front & presure washed insides,drained & set a fan up to dry.Probaly sounds dumb but got a shop vac to finnish cleaning before lubeing chains & found a nut with a broken stud in it? Looked all over but could't find where it came from.Any chance this could be from assembly?tks again robin

As for your slashed sidewall, that could very well have been caused by the track guides. If you roll over a rock/lump/stump/ect on one edge of your track, it is easy to drive a guide into the sidewall. I have done it a few times.
And the nut with the broken stud. What size is it? If I had to guess, I would say it's a Bearing Houseing Bolt. Inner or outer, it could be hard to find which one though

Hey Rock Doctor I think by some of your other posts you must be in Ft St john,I'm in grande prairie.The nut I mentioned is 3/8 nyloc nut with a piece of broken stud in it.I looked front to back but can't seam to find any missing ,on the ones I couldn't see I felt by hand.I don't know if that would be something that might happen on assembly, but you would think they would fish out the broken part.I might have to call the guys at argyll motor sports to see what they have to say.tks robin

If the gash in the tire is less than 1 inch jam some tire plugs in it and move it to a middle tire. I have two tires with six plugs each in side wall splitsand they keep air very well. Maybe I'm cheap but hey it works and I have lent out my spare on occasion and continue to run with my plugged tires.
Ya ain't stuck til the winch cable comes out!!!
