clutch and motor question

hey I have a 88 argo 8x8 and going to change the motor i have a 27 hp koholr and want to put it in is this motor too big will it damage the tranny and second has any one ever bored out the clutch or is it even possible to bore it out.

I bored out a salisbury clutch off of a 16hp tec. but I only steped
up 2 hp . If you can fit that 27 in you'll have a reel sleeper!
