Hi I am in the process of installing rubber tracks on my 97 conquest. I will keep you posted on my progress. There is a lot of work in this proceedure, more than installation and away you go.

        Hi All,
I have just installed Argo rubber tracks on my 97 conquest. This was done in conjunction with the local dealer. Tire diameter size is critical on each side of the vehicle. This changes tire to tire down the sides. Also tire pressure changes from tire to tire. Clearance is a problem in the middle. Not much space at the third tire down each side 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Testing to be done today in the snow that came yesterday. Keep you posted on progress.

There are many Conquests out there with tracks on (Rubber and Plastic), especially for winter months. Most of them (that I know of) are runnning their standard "Runamucks" for tires. As long as you are running tires of the same size as the Runamucks, you should not run into clearance issues. Tracks can be a great feature, but keep in mind that they do add stress to bearings, axles, chains, ect.

Tracks can be purchased through several vendors. Argo, Bullduc, Escargo, ect.

Take some pics "ve1sar", everyone likes to see pics ;-)

I used to spend quite a bit of time on tracks, but ever since I upgraded to the larger 24" tires, I now only run tracks in the winter.

Hi, As stated in a previous log I installed Rubber tracks on my 97 conquest. I installed these tracks in conjunction with the local Agro dealer and I would suggest any one do this to do the same. I had it out for a test run last weekend and there were no problems. There is an issue regarding tire clearance 1/2 inch. The least clearence I have is where the largest tire is and that is the third tire down each side. This is where the dealer and the specks from Argo say where the tires are to be placed. The tires I am running are 4 runamucks at the corners. and 4 argo new style paddle tires. The tires all have to be measured by diameter and placed down each side by size. I have 8 runamucks the size of these tires were an issue. The tires are 22 inch. My tires measured smallest 68 1/2 inches to 73 inches. The quality comtrol for these tires is not consistent. This is the reason to put the new style tire in the middle because the size of my 4 tires were consistent. Tire pressure is also different by tire to tire down each side. On my test run the tires did not rub on the under body. If this becomes a issue I may have to put a bald tire to give some space for the track. The reason for all this tire size etc. is to prevent chain windup this happens because the tires cannot spin in the tracks. The chains bind up under the floor. I have the older style chain tensioners and my Argo may not be affected buy this. The newer Agos have rachet style tensioners that my cause this. They cannot release. To stop this the rear chains may have to be removed when running the rubber tracks. This make the back tires idlers only. Hope this is clear. Paul
