  • Frontier 8x8 Performance

I haven't heard much on the Frontier 8x8's. Just curious as to how they stack up to the Avenger or Conquest.

    8x8 frontier

I have been wondering about the 8x8 Frontier for awhile. It's seems like they would be very fast in the water since they only weigh in at 1050 pounds. They have excellent ground clearance, good tires and 8 wheel drive, yet no one seems to talk about them and I have never seen one on video. I have a chance to see for myself what a fine machine the 6x6 is having run extensively with Lee and Health in some pretty impossible situations. What about it 8x8 Frontier owners, can you give us some video or discuss your experience. Have you have the chance to run your 8x8 with other machines?

I bought a new 2009 frotier 8x8. Used it for ice fishing hauled 6 people and towed a portable ice shack,no problem in snow up to a foot deep. Used for moose hunting traveled through muskeg swamp, bush trails, creek crossing, up/down 100ft hill no problem. used low gear for climbing hill otherwise ran in high gear loaded heaver than manufacturer recommended weight. Suprised how well it handled the tight bush trail, followed same trail as 4 wheelers. only time winch was used was to pull 4 wheeler out when stuck. swam well when used for fishing (best to have one person in front and one in back) Haven't ran with other argo's so can't make comparison. But I'm happy with the performance, and it wasn't as hard on the wallet as the bigger machines.
