Performance Chips for EFI Avenger

Does anyone has ever try the performance chip sold on e-bay to improve hp and torque on Argo EFI models... If so, did you see a big difference with ou without... I`m curious...

Personally I'd stay far far away from Ebay performance chips. If there anything like automotive chips which im sure they are it will only cause issues down the trail, usually making claims of great hp without doing anything is a sign that its too good to be true. For a quick laugh call up your local Argo dealer or better yet call up ODG and ask them im sure they will tell you that its doing this by bumping up fuel tables and timing and might even require you to run a better grade gas. Any one here have experience with performance chips off ebay?

That what i was thinking about those free HP, you can`t make HP that you don`t have but i was curious to know how guys here would think about that. Thanks for your advices guys...

There are "real" performance chips that reprogram engine tune like George described, and there are also gadgets like this one, with a knob to turn. I don't know what the kohler has on it, but the ebay add suggests it overides the air flow sensor to richen the mixture. I've seen one advertised for my nissan truck.. all it does is bypass the temperature sensor to make the computer think the engine is cold and richen the mixture. Some of these things might work, but I would want to hear from a satisfied user first.

Being a diesel power enthusiast i know a lot about power chips and programmers i currently have both in my truck and i can tell you that if you dont know what your doing you can damage things alos there is no cheap power adder the chip and tuner on my truck both cost over 700 if bought new now im sure one for a small engine is cheaper than that but i wouldn't buy it from eBay get it from a reputable dealer thats your best bet
