  • Loading into a pick up?

Do any of you load your AATV's into the bed of your p/u? If so, do you have pics of it? I have a Vanguard 2 with a ROPS and was curious if my tailgate would take loading of a 6x6 using ramps or would it tear off?
    Thanks
    Chris

i have loaded my argo into the back of my truck, used 7 foot quad ramps and make sure to tie them to the truck before driving up. my argo is an eight wheel conquest. just fits in a long box with the tail gate down. could not close it but tires do not sit on the tailgate. i found that if you make 2 by 12 stands for your wheels to sit on above the wheel wells it works out better.

I would take the tailgate off and get the double-wide aluminum Harbor Freight ramps.
Secure the ramps to the truck before attempting to load the 6x6. Putting 600# in the back of the truck will lower it as you are loading.
The trouble with retirement is.... I never get a day off !!!!

I'm sure you all have a good way to do it but at my house there is a little hill down from out carport that I can back the truck up to. so I back it up to that and put the ramps across. I puto a board under each side of tires to distribut the weight better, but this was just to be better on my tires. with that long bed you should be just fine with just some ramps and lots of tiedowns. but I don't know anything about those GM tailgates, so if it comes flying off, don't look at me

                      Its a full load!!!!

I made the ramp and back rack and a wood platform to keep it level over the wheel wells. It works pretty well ....i had to add some load levelers as the 1/2 ton suspension is not "up to snuff"

Looks like a good fit. Did you make the ramps?

Your tailgate will do fine. atvrider is right though. Where ever I go I always look for the strategic hill with or without ramps.
