  • Installing suspension?

I am very interested in installing suspension on my argo. ive seen the concept and it looks fairly simple. however, ive heard that it adds a lot of weight (about how much weight would that be). are there kits or specific parts for this? and are there any tutorials on this?

    thanks,

    Hi Stryker,

I have a suspended Attex. I'm using a kit developed by Whipper. It's great. The only downside for me is that it made my machine much wider. I ride in the woods quite a bit so I need to choose my course carefully. When things open up though, I can really make up the lost time. The extra weight slows me down in the water but on land it makes very little difference. It does fine in 6 inches of snow. I'd like to see how it does in a foot or better but the opportunity has not come yet.

There is a thread on the site about an Argo springer. From what I understand, the guy who built it is not a member of 6x6World. I wish he was because I know a lot of people would like to hear about it from "The horse's mouth." His takes a different approach than the one I have. Clearly is does not increase the Argo's with as much as my kit increased the Attex.

There was another guy on the site working on a kit for his Argo but I don't think he's reported anything about it since the summer. I can only say that more engineering goes into than a "regular shmoe" like me can manage.

awesome. a wider wheel base would be more of a pro than a con for me. it would be just for jumping/ messing around. do u think the attex kit would work with an argo (with a little modification).

also do u have any videos? id like to see it. sounds like u have a pretty sick attex.

The backbone of the kit Whipper makes would be the side plates. You would need those to be custom manufactured. Whipper told me he could do it for an Argo but he'd need an Argo body and frame at his shop to do it. It would be a prototype and as such, it would be very expensive to build. I don't think it would be possible to modify the Attex side-plates to fit anything else.

        Here are some videos...

This video will give you an idea about the the side plates.
