whats the biggest tire anyone has on an 8x8

i am not sure, but i think their are a couple of guys on here that are running the 24 inch frontier tires on conquests and i do bleive a response. check for the threads on 24 inch frontier tires.

the guy at argo dealer said 22 only. that anything else would rub on each other. i just wonderd if its true ,or just "by the book" true. if you know what i mean.

I put 24" Frontier Tires on my Conquest. It's a tight fit, but they do fit.
I was also told that they would not fit, by our local dealer. He gave me several reasons "They are too big" "They won't fit your rims" "The rims that they do fit will not fit your machine" ect ect.
Really, neither he nor Argo wanted me to make them work (In my opinion), Why buy a new machine, like a Response, when I could just put the tires on my old machine, right?

I actually had to insist that he order me a couple to try out, and even then I had to insist 3 times before they shipped some to me.

Now, I have 5 buddies with Conquests, all running the 24" tires

Actually one friend had to take a couple back and exchange them for a couple different ones. Quality Control could be better, as I have seen up to almost 3" difference in circumference between tires at the same pressure.

There's not a better all around tire you can put on a response/conquest. Water, mud, sand, snow, logs. The ride quality alone is enough reason.

I would have to agree with Roger S, I really like mine.
If I'm not mistaken, that's about the same price I paid. Too much really, for what you get, but Argo has a monopoly on them and can charge whatever they want I guess.

I was trying different araingments. Some guys found that having the front tires mounted backwards helped them climb out of holes better, so I tried it. Didn't work out for my riding conditions, but I did find that having the 3rd tires backwards does help out when swimming in reverse.
There was a thread wher this was discussed in detail, but I don't recall what it was called.

Argo wheels are 8x7 wide, and 9x10 wide. So yes, they fit on the 8x7 wheels that runamuks come on. I think the Frontier wheel bead must be different, because Frontiers hold their bead better than conquests wheels with frontier tires retrofitted.

not to sure that they will fit on yours, my dad has a machine about the same age as yours, and has less room around the tires than my conquest does. but argo does sell the same tread in a 22x20x8 tire that will fit onto your machine with no problem.

i have seen (and have both on hand) Argo 24x10x8 frontier tires that measured 72 1/2" and 79 1/2" in actual circumference...yes thats 7" in difference and almost 1" in ride height, so if you have the opportunity to pick smaller tires from the pile of mounted ones your clearance issues will be fewer...both the 22" and 24" tires all use the standard argo 8x7 rim, but the 8x8 rim that RI uses would help reduce crown (center height of tread) and improve actual bouancy in the water...just FYI if you are looking for the ultimate setup...
