  • Argo windshield wiper

Can anyone share information/experiences with the Argo windshield wipers? Is control a manual swtich on the inside of the mount at top of windshield? Multiple speeds? Also I have heard that the blade can "rip off" on bushes when riding through wooded areas. Can the unit be disconnected easily or will you want to keep in mounted permanently once installed? Thx.

I called about a wiper kit for my Argo from my dealer. Way too expensive in my opinion. I ended up spending about 20 bucks fro a hand operated kit from JC Whitney. I scrapped the blade that came with it and replaced it with a $4.00 Anco and am very pleased. JC Whitney also has a reasonably priced 12V unit that should work as well. So far I've had no problem with the blade ripping off on bushes. The only problem that I've had is that I accidentally dropped the windshield down on the supports and the extra weight of the wiper assembly trashed the glass.

Good idea McCoy. There are always ways to save $$$ with these 6 wheelers. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that JC Whitney makes an after market wiper - especially a manual one that fits the wiper hole in the Argo windshield.

I have the manuel wiper on mine. Works great except going over ruff terrain it tends to slide straight down right where your looking. I'm sure this is an easy fix. Just haven't looked in to it yet. But all in all it works good.
