  • Just bought used Argo. Year?????

Hope someone can help me figure out what year this was made. It had a 1992 sticker on it, and is a Magnum model. Is there a owners manual available for it? Sure seems like it will be a fun ATV. Still need to find a top and winch for it.
    Thanks for any help, Mark

Mark, I can't help you on the year but I just wanted to welcome you to the site. I'm sure someone will chime in here shortly. It really looks like it is in great shape. Congratulations on the purchase and let us know how you like it.

      Save $100.00 on a winch!!

Go to harbor frieght.com & click on "what's hot", scroll down to the camo colored winch ad & print a $100.00 savings & pay only $69.00. 3000 lb.

I got one from my wife for a birthday present to replace the worn out one on my Argo Conquest. It works great!! Wireless, radio controlled remote, to boot!!

I just printed off a coupon for my neighbor yesterday.

Thanks for the welcome, this should be a lot of fun. I just purchased the same winch from Harbor freight yesterday, but I will have to weld up a bracket for it as it mounts with the cable pointing down as is. Good price for $69 though. I plan on taking it up to my land here in Colorado next weekend and try it out. Hope it runs at 10000 feet.
        Thanks again, Mark

Colorado? I'm jealous. Used to go every summer for wheeling, backpacking, etc. Have wanted to take the argo up some summer and do some jeep roads like Holy Cross. Beautiful country. If your engine's carb isn't jetted for high altitude, you might check into that. I ran around at 10,000 in NM in my Response with tracks, ran ok but the usual loss of power.

That's a nice looking used machine you found.

Finally got a winch mount made

Bought a cheap remote winch at Harbor Freight and made a mount plate for it. Should work for the little amount I hope to use it. Now looking for someone to sell me some extra track segments to make my 6x6 tracks into a
8x8 set. Does anyone know what a top might go for a 90 Magnum 8x8?
This Argo has been a lot of fun, just got finished giving the neighborhood kids Argo rides.

              markv,

I don't know if this helps you on the year of your model but in 1989 the Argo 8x8 Magnum and Argo 6x6 Magnum were introduced.

                Mark,
Welcome to the site. It is good to see more Coloradans online.

If you dig up a serial number I bet Argo could tell you the year. Or Richard at route 6x6 my know as well.

If you bought the unit from someone in Colorado you may not need to rejet yet. I do know a mechanic in Denver that does my 8x8 engine work.

                Nice winch.
