Mine just wraps around the body but not around the rear, has a big winch bracket as an integral part of it. Thing is it has been an average of minus 20 celcius/centigrade up here since I got it and the nearest free water is probably a 1000 kilometers south, My first instinct was to tear it all off, but I've put that off till spring.
I sure could do some bush crashing with a set up like you have there, its a gorgeous fabrication job, no fear of coming home with your ARGO almost in half, YUP I've been down that road too, is why I drilled all the rivets out and went with machine bolts and washers, had to modify the rubber bumper strip
but oh well. Very nice looking rig you have there, wish the bank account (And the BANK MANAGER in the living room) would allow for an upgrade to a newer rig.
        CERTIFIED ARGO NUT.
I'M THINKING THIS WAS MEANT FOR ME? she swims alright but is a lil tippy, would be more stable with a load in the cargo area, i havnt used this machine much yet as work has me bent over a barrel. as for all the "iron" well thats due to being an ironworker with full fab shop and creative lunch breaks lol cant play must build lol when i get time i will make some video

          • Those tires dig really hard when turned around like you have on the front.

                            • A friend got a moose last fall. Four of us couldn't get it in the trailer, we had to winch it in. The trailer is a four wheel tub type that I pulled down to the moose on a dirt road with the wheels skidding in the mud for about a mile. We loaded it and I went back on the same dirt road, wheels skidding unless I could get on the grass in the ditch. It used about a half a tank of gas to go down and back one mile each way. I had to stop once on the way down and three or four times on the way back to let it cool down. The next day it cost us $125 bucks to wash the truck and trailer and the argo and trailer to get the mud out. I have never seen mud stick like that stuff.
I haven't had any drive train problems, but I use my own combinations of grease and oil on the chains and in the transmission. I changed the chains when I bought it and I have about 150 hrs on it. I only use the best chain I can get. It's expensive, but it lasts, and it is considerably cheaper than replacing the sprockets.
I didn't put the engine in. I bought it from the original owner. The only thing I've done is add a big electric fan to push air out of the engine compartment. In the winter time I only turn it on if it gets to hot in the cab. I have tracks for it and I have no problem with them.
I have some traction problems and I found out Argo has a new 22 inch tire with good size lugs. When I get some it's going to be interesting how fast it will go in the water. It will pick the front end up considerably now as it is. Today in the silt in a creek bed, my buddy was getting hung up in the silt. I didn't get stuck at all.
Anyway, it runs good, is fast, pulls like you wouldn't believe and I haven't had to do any major repairs so far.

Why not the 24" frontier tire instead?
