1979 Argo
I am updating this 1979 Argo. Tecumseh 16HP. So far I have: New drive chains\idler chains, rebuilt chain tensioners, drive belt, seats remade and recovered, added marine navigation lights, new electrical wiring, bilge pump, new exhaust, electrical feed from primary battery to spare deep cycle marine battery in back with quick connectors.
Will be adding a trolling motor mount for the trolling motor, new tires, and led headlights soon.

Here is mine, its an 83 that I traded a 1952 fibreglass boat for this summer. The first time I took it out I got 200 yards from the truck and lost my 2 forward gears. So I'm in the process of learning how to rebuild a Argo transmission.
I the view of the cockpit and the lower right you can see the custom winch controls I made as the ones it came with were toast.

Hi guys, this is my first post on the site. Thought id post a few pics of my adventuring business up in northern canada. I rely on my argo and it has never let me down. These pictures are in complete remote isolation the winter pictures were taken in -54c before wind chill, and the others around +20c. Had a great time, love the machine! Had to strap snowboards to the bottom of our tub trailer for the 6+ feet of snow we were traversing, just down trail from our spike survival camp
Wanted to add that there are some great looking Argos in this thread!
My argo posted here is a 2008 8x8 Argo Avenger 750EFI, modified seats in the back into seat/toolboxes, added two large hallogens lights to the front bumper, and one mounted to the back, able to pivot and skew for field dressing animals, or repairing things at night in the bush (Very handy). Few other extras and what not. These machines are fun to modify and work on!

P1010022.jpgHere is a pic of my Conquest last winter at a communications tower. I had to go rescue my buddies diesel snowcat after it froze up at -50 F. He even had anti gel in the tank, but it was only rated to -40.

Welcome Captinjames, those Super Sports are sweet machines very quick. I'd guess she's 75-78 and def. pre 1980 as the sticks are on the left. Does it have the gauges and the padding next to your knees? Most of the green ones had white seats originally and I see the snaps for the rear compartment cover.sigpic
My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
Joe Camel never does that.
Advice is free, it's the application that costs.
