  • How old is my Argo

    Hi All,
I have an old argo here in Australia that pre dates the local dealers records he thinks it must have been a private import. I was wondering how to find out it's age the serial number is T5169.
I have seen where there is somewhere that has the serial number info, does any one have a link to it,As it's not possible for me to ring up, a internet link or email address would be great.

    Thanks

my NKB-7932 was made in 1986. I think the digits are the serial while the letters are the model (as the manual put emphasis on the numbers, not the model letters.)

Maybe someone should do a spreadsheet on Argo serial numbers from known owners, as the Argo age question seems to come up a lot on the forum.
Like I said calling Agro direct is all well and good if you live in the USA but when you live in another country it not really practical.

Hi, I've got a shop manuaul for 6 and 8 wheel ARGO's from 77 to 86. It covers the T-3382 to the T-5590 so chances are it is a 1986 model. The T-5590 was to Feb. 87. You should have a tecumseh 16hp OH160 (453cc) and a model(on top of transmission) CH transmission. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Hey any chance I could get a copy of your shop manual, like a scanned emailable copy.
Would be real handy as currently mine's down to the chassis and I'm just starting to piece it back together.
Trans number is 10340CH and it has the tecumseh 16hp OH160.
              thanks for the reply.
