Argo Frontier 6x6 Roll bar - 1st post on redesigned site

Hello My Fellow Argo Fanatics,

This is not my first post but it certainly is on the newly designed web-layout. I"m still getting used to it. Love this site though!

Here goes, I have a 2009 Argo Frontier 6x6.

OPTION 1;

I want a somewhat small roll bar for it, not the full size unit that goes over the front hood. I was thinking of one that just goes up and over right behind the seat with a couple of angled pieces coming down to the corners. If it would fit inside the canopy top to eliminate the need for the center aluminum bar, that too would be great.

Now, I don't own a welder or pipe bender so I would have to take it to a shop to have fabricated and obviously there is a cost to that.

OR, there is OPTION 2;

I could purchase the optional roll bar from Argo. It is the one that actually mounts inside to the frame at the back of the 6x6 and the two rear bars come over the top of the lip and bolts on where the Argo top and bottom go together. Now this option steals some storage room from the back of the Argo and also costs $750.

Can anyone offer some advice and better yet, some photos of your own 6x6 roll bars?

the only issue i can see with the pic you posted is when you have the soft top off in summer, if you caught the roll bar on a low branch that you thought you could clear the branch would probably whack you in the back of the head.

Hi , I would restrict where I would go with my argo if equipped with a roll cage. Shallow water only. AATVS with roll bars are top heavy and could roll over easier. Also narrow trails with low limbs could cause a problem also. You will need alot more head room. Just my thoughts. Paul

I had a full cage on my conquest 8x8 and I took it in ponds it was not top heavy at all. You did have to keep eye on low branchs, I sum times had to make own trail around them. Cougar

What has happened to this forum? I posted thinking I would get lots of responses about different roll bars and never got any pictures or ideas. Does anyone still use the site since its redesign?

I'm sorry, did you mean to say "Does anyone with a late model Argo Frontier with a custom rollcage use this site since its redesign?"
I would be happy to post pictures of my rollcage, but would that help you?

Rollbars are best suited for people who use them. Design it how you want and how you would like it. Kinda personal question depending on how you use the machine.

On second thought, just bring your machine over to my house, and leave it for a few months. I will build you a custom rollcage, thoroughly and extensively test it, making sure your machine performs well in the mud, water, hills, sand and anywhere else I can think of testing it out. I would do it all for what the factory bar costs. I won't even charge you for the fuel used during the hundreds of hours of testing!!!! And have a smile on my face the whole time.
