  • Avenger to HDI axle conversion Kit?

Does anyone know if you can convert the regular avenger axle to the larger HDI axle? Is there a kit from Argo for that? If so, any idea how much $?

I have bent a few too many front axles and would like to upgrade. Also the extended bearing life would be nice.

Just had a peek at the parts manual and there are no specs on shafts to compare them so might have to contact ODG/Argo

If I'm not mistaken, HDI Axles are the same as Avenger Axles, which are the same as Conquest Axles, with regards to Axle Diameter.
At least I hope so, couse I just spent a whack of money buying HDI Outer Bearing Assemblies that I intend to mount on my Conquest Axles.

I think you are good to go,RD. My dealer replaced my bent axle and and used one of the beefier looking outer bearing cases on the axle on my 2007 Avenger. Only one grease nipple?? Looks thicker.Same axle though. I keep hearing ! 3/8 axle but I haven't seen one. warren philip

            RD,

Whats a Swack if you don't mind me asking? Did you do all the outer bearing on all your bearings or just the front? I think I will redo mine this summer if it is not too much.

I would be really interested to see the longevity of the new bearings.............

Yes, one grease nipple. That nipple chanels grease through a hole about 1mm in dia. to similar hole in the Outer brng race via the brng carrier (which is a 2 piece "non-sealed" flange assembly). THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THAT ANY GREASE PUMPED INTO THAT NIPPLE IS GETTING INTO THE BRNG. Also, there is no axle to brng seal anymore (Like the lip seals on the current axles), in fact the new assemblies have the entire outer brng seal and inner race exposed to the outside of the Argo.
