  • 2002 argo bigfoot cutom electric fuel pump install

Tell me what you guys think

Fuel pump (2-3.5 psi) steady state

Toggle switch with safety cover in off position

Handle bar with switch in off position

    toggle in on position

    handle bar in on position

So far my testing has made me very happy. I have not had any of the fuel starvation issues that i have dealt with since i bought this machine. I have found that it is more responsive after long periods of high load (the bowl is always full when the extra pump is running). There is also an extra filter installed before the pump to ensure long service

No issues with too much fuel. I even checked the air filter. I think that it just makes sure the bowl is almost full in the carb. As long as the needle has a good seat then there shouldnt be any issues with it running too rich right? Also i am not sure why but it seems as though the back fire at shut down is now gone...? will see if it stays that way, and dont know how to explain it if it is gone.

I have a bunch of spare parts, so if some one is interested in doing this i can prob put together a kit with some instructions so its real easy. pm me if some one is interested.

i like the light. i prefer overkill on things like that. i'd rather have a blinding light letting me know that an accessory is left on!
the only thing i would do different is to wrap all the wires in some wire loom or tubing to keep them from chafing and causing a short.

Any reason for mounting the pump on the floor? I mounted a pump under the seat and wired it to the key 10 years ago, no issues. Route6x6 had all these warnings about how you couldn't put a pump with any more pressure than the wimpy stock one without flooding the carb. I had raised the float level slightly before adding a pump, and still had no issues after adding a 2-3 psi pump. Sure was nice to put the fuel supply problems to rest, that was pretty stupid of argo to produce a vehicle that couldn't go uphill.

Too high of a pressure can easily be corrected by adding a regulator like this.

I think this is the same model I had on a sandrail, it was adjustable in 1/2 psi increments.
It still allows the higher volume, just limits pressure.

its on the rear rail for easy access. i went toggle in case of problems, safty latch ensures it shutting if i roll it on its back. route6x6 said same to me, but i watched and my bowl doesnt overflow.
