  • 04' Avenger Track Help

Hey everyone, I just picked up a 2004 avenger 700, and am looking into tracks for the winter. I have looked at a few sites, and it seems like I have to buy new tires? I have the Goodyear Rawhide III, in
25x11.5x9. The super tracks look like the easier to install, but you must have smaller tires? Also saw Escargo Tracks but no pricing or tire specs. I do not want to buy new tires just to install tracks, there has to be someone using these tires with tracks.....Any help would be great.
If it looks like you can't make it, you probably can't, but what the hell you can call in sick tomorrow......right?

I believe Argo makes the rubber tracks for your Avenger with the Rawhide III tires. No need to go with the plastic super tracks.

Ya grizzly, I priced out the rubber tracks at the dealer here, and they were $5000 Canadian!!!!! way to much money. Has anyone dealt with Adair Argo Sales in Iowa? They have some decent prices, freight is going to be the killer. Looks like it would still be cheaper though "18 in Super Tracks for 8x8 $2,491 U.S." so with freight and exchange I would be in the $3000 range. Only going to use for snow and maybe muskeg / swamp (sucks when you get stuck out there).

Well we have an update! Took out a sidewall on one of my tires last weekend. Goodyear Rawhide III 25x11.50x9's, and apparently these have been discontinued. So if I had to buy tires ( hate mis-matched stuff) what size, and brand? Remember I want to install tracks for the winter as well. Terrain I run in is, sand/gravel roads (60%) mud (20%) muskeg/swamp (10%) Snow (10%). For the snow and muskeg I'll mainly use tracks, so the tires should fit with the other terrain. Are the super tracks cheaper to buy? If so I could go down to the 24" tires. Let me know what you think..........

Escargo runs on the on the 25x11.5x9 Rawhide III providing they have a bit of wear on the tire.

There is a new bigger paddle Escargo track that fits over the Rawhide 111 25 inch tire for the Avenger, with no tire change needed. You are going to pay about $5,000 due to the Canada/US Dollar exchange rate, customs fees, and transportation. According to the maker of the tracks, the 25 inch Rawhide 111 tire is best if it has a bit of wear on it due to the bigger diameter. They are doing a lot of field testing with this new track and it paddles better in the water too. The weight is about 90 lbs more than the Argo rubber track. I use Only Escargo tracks on all of my rental units, which are Frontier 8x8s, Conquests, and Responses. Every other track we have ever used falls off on hill sides, or if you lose tire pressure in a tire. Escargos stay on, and we hever get them stuck. Ever. Frontier 8x8s run best in the water and in the nastiest muck when you add about 300 lbs to the back of the machine. They just swim better and climb out of everything best when you add weight to the back. Anyway, Escargo now has a track that will solve the 25 inch Rawhide 3 dilema. We have not had a chance to run the new track on a BigFoot with the 25's yet, but when we get one in here, we will let you know.
