  • New Conquest Tracks

    Hey guys,
I just got lucky at a farm auction and picked up a brand new set of plastic tracks for my conquest. My question is now what.. I have not installed the tracks, but I think that I will need a set of axle spacers. As well, someone told me that you need to remove the rear chains?? Any truth to this??? What else needs to be done in order to use the tracks?

On a Max you need to have the hub spacers and auxilary bearing cages, but I'm not sure about an Argo. Also, I heard that removing a drive chain will help prevent the tires from walking out of the tracks, but I run all the chains on mine and haven't had a problem.

The conquest has front and rear bearing extensions as standard equipment.. 15" tracks will slip on and go. The 18" tracks need wheel spacers, they're about 3" thick, and have slots for lug stud extensions. I'll leave the chain questions to others with more experience. There may be options besides argo for the spacing hardware, like RS Bolduc, who has been making and selling wide rubber tracks longer than Argo has.
