  • Is a handbrake/park brake necessary/nice to have on an argo 8 x8

Just a thought. My Argo KB 1985 does not have a park brake. Is it essential/Desirable. I,m still in the repair phase so apart from a few laps up and down the flat drive way I have no experience with these machines. I know with my quads a park brake is sometimes handy where I ride.

    Has anyone retro fitted? How

    Thanks in advance

He who has not cruised the back country in a 6x6 , has not lived life to it's fullest
A Mans level of mechanical education directly corresponds to the level pain suffered while getting it

I think the only time I use mine is when I park on a steep hill and get out to pull the drain plugs.

This item is relevant to where you ride. Hilly area you may want one but other than that no. My Avenger 06 does not have one i use the hand brake, the upgrade works great.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

I have one and never use it... now that it doesn't work.(Due to lack of use) I wish I could take it out and use the lever for something else.
Ya ain't stuck til the winch cable comes out!!!

Parking brake ??? I thought that was the lump of wood you jammed behind the steering levers, very effecive and used widely in the Higlands with older machines.
