  • argo exaust mods.

hi i love my argo , but i find it is a bit loud and proby scares away alot of wildlife before i have a chance to see it !!
i am exploring ideas on making the pipe longer and exaust out the rear,
or adding mufflers etc to make it silent ,,, anyone try this or anything like it ?
i tryd a search but no luck ,
iam thinking since it is efi if i lengthen the pipe it should run the same ,, i hope

I did see an exhaust made from jacketed pipe that was run through the upper tub inside the edge of the machine (Just above the "splitline"), exiting the machine at the upper rear corner. It looked good, and sounded good, but I don't know if it really worked out for the guy.

(Not sure if I saw it here or someplace else)

Mine's that way, the older body style.. The frontier and avenger bodies don't have as much room beside the front seat to route it internally.

I know a guy that had his muffler fall off so he turned a pipe down inside the engine compartment. The heat ended up blowing a hole in the bottom of the machine! Be careful where you route that exhaust.

I built an aluminum top with a windshield on my avenger. I seemed to suck alot of fumes possibly due to the way the wind came around the windshield. To fix this I took apart the stock pipe and put an increaser on the stub off the muffler. I then ran 2 inch pipe up the front off the cab and through the roof overhang. I put a very shallow bend elbow on top which I cut even shallower so it terminates like a semi truck pipe. The whole job looks neat and tidy and keeps the fumes out of my face. By increasing the pipe diameter a little over stock I hoped to alleviate any back pressure problems I might have created with the longer pipe. I hope this helps someone.
