        How do you go with cooling the engine? Where does the cool air get in, and the hot air out apart from the small vent behind the seat?

          the cold air and the hot air go through the large vent behind the seat; it's almost twice as large as the OEM total air vents on the original body.

          Now, I have a possibility to get a 2008 max iv for 4000$ (in west virginia)

          MAX IV SIX WHEEL AMPHIBIOUS ATV: eBay Motors (item 220691131974 end time Nov-08-10 12:04:37 PST)

          it was never titled but got the original Manufacturer Statement of origin with all the papers when the original owner traded it in at a dealer; I still have to call the border agency to see if the friendly US border agents will let it go through the border without a title (but with complete history and papers from the dealer)...

          If I go for the max, I will have to sell the centaur....

          If I don't go for the MAX, I will have to live with a non-paying bidder notice on my ebay account....

                  yup but 1 hour after taking pictures, I grenaded the crankcase to shrapnels. I knew the Honda vtwin were fragile on the crank side but at 25 hours, I would have expected more out of it....

                  Anyway, I have a 2008 Max IV on the way;
                  the small 16hp will go in the centaur and I will hunt for a larger briggs vtwin for the max.

                  The argo got a 2 speed tranny so it will be fine.

                    That sucks. Was the motor stock? I thought I remembered seeing where you modified the motor but I'm not sure. Also, was the motor new?

                      I got the motor new; I used it over 1 winter on my garden tractor then moved it to the argo. the only things made were advanced timing key and ported heads (and no governor but never went over 3000 rpm after the removal)
