    • Aw, keep 'em treted with armor all or something better.. even if they did pull away, you could make a wood frame to stretch them when out of the vehicle.

The front floorboard and firewall on the 650 HD are not made from HDPE, but TPO. Shrinkage should be less with this material. The 8x8 HD vehicle uses TPO for both floorboards, and the firewall. They also have flanging designed in around the outer edge to reduce warping over time (something that was common on older models). Just a friendly FYI...

          are you sure ?

TPO stand poorly against UV and solvents like...gasoline, chain grease and brake fluids.

But for now I am so happy with the fit and finish, 5 years from now we will see.

Fitz, still haven't been stuck and I lost my best video (Camera) in a mud hole at the rocky Creek trail ride. love the machine, so far no complaints but i will keep you posted.

                • That's some great footage showing the fine capabilities of this machine. What you can't see is the size of the machine, its just big enough to get you there and back, yet not so large that it can't sneak through the woods. Its just about the perfect size. Although it does make my Max2 seem small. Especially when you look at all the ground clearance. The power to weight ratio, fit and finish, smooth transmission of power, and those tracks all come together to make a great package. Glad to see that Dan isn't scared to get the new machine dirty.

                  • Reference belt squeal

I received two belts from Tim, and installed one of the upgraded belts with the same number as the standard Frontier belt, this particular belt is made in France. I also have another aftermarket belt to try in case there are any problems with belt squeal. I installed the belt and took the machine for a ride a saw no signs of slippage or any squeal what so ever.
I am hopeful that this will solve any of the squealing problems I have had in the past.
An Argo belt slips right on and off and only takes a few minutes to install. Quite a difference from my other machine which can be quite an ordeal.

Belt number 127-159, made in france and looks a little different from the standard frontier belt, even though it has the same number.

                    • Dan: Can you post some video showing the vehicle in higher speed conditions? Several folks have mentioned to me that they believe the tracks are only made for very slow movement. Based upon what I saw with your machine and others with the Adair tracks, they seemed to do well at higher speeds as well.

Funny you should ask, The video I lost at Rocky creek had me moving through impossible Mud at 10 to 15 mph and spinning Brodie's in mud the quads couldn't move in. The machine was so impressive! Even I was impressed. I'll do me best to get some more video of the machine running at higher speeds.

Is that belt squeal related to the Admiral transmission in the Frontier, or something that could be applied to all Frontiers regardless of transmission - ?

                          • Bud, as far as I know it's an admiral HD thing, Amphiman said he had the same problem with two HD's with standard 24" tires. I think (hope) that i have it sorted out. i am told the Argo is aware of the problem and is working hard on a solution.

                            • I've seen it on an earlier model frontier.. have to find a dealer to give us the scoop on fixes/updates.

                              • Video Hawkinsville one year ago-Now

The first video was shot in October 2010 (I was driving my ASX equipped MaxIV), the second video was shot in January 2011. Lee knows this park better than me and he took me through every mud hole that had given us problems the year before. My Argo HDI performed flawlessly walking through every hole he put in front of my machine.
