  • tires and their sizes

checked the tires on my 1990 magnum - noticed three different sizes,
    namely, 20-11-8 , 22-10-8 , and 20-11-8

    1. does it matter if all sizes not the same?

    2. which is the best size, if there is one?

    3. should the front axle have the same or different tire size?

    4. ok to have different sizes , as long as the same size on the same axle across from each other? or not ?

    any thoughts

Best if the tires are all the same size. Otherwise you create extra stress on the chains as the tires are binding and slipping

I would think the small variation in width would have as much effect as the height, I argee it's best that they be the same. I would go with the 22, the more ground clearance you have the better (IMO), if a set of 22 will fit. Inflate your tires to the same pressure, say 5 psi & measure them around they may be close to the same size now.

If you have different tire sizes you'll have all sorts of problems. On an AATV you should NEVER have different tire sizes. I agree, go with the 22's and inflate them to uniform PSI and you'll be all set.

          hi
advetised diameter of the tyre is only good when comparing to the same brand
The actual fitted diameter is what u are interested in
          EG some makers will
          1/ give u a size fitted to a 7 inch rim width
          others
          2/ will give u a size fitted to a 10.5 wide rim
          fitted diameter therefore is important
Only fit the same tyre size type etc .......
