  • Pushin' Bush

    So, there's a bit of a story behind this one.
    A "friend" was on me and on me to replace a bearing for him on his Argo, he couldn't help of course for one reason or another. On and on for weeks, so finally I caved. He didn't have money for parts, but figured that I would probably have something that would work.
    <sigh>
    I told him that I would take care of it, but that it would NOT be new parts, I would put an old brng and seals in that were still good, but not good enough.

    I haul my ass out of bed early to run to his place to pick his machine up before work. He's not feeling well, so stays in bed while I deal with flat tires and load up.

    Anyway, I take it out to the bush with me, end up replacing 2 bearings, change the brake fluid, tighten chains, clean clutches, ect. I call him up to tell him it needs more work, but that I'm not willing to put any more time into it.

    He said "Oh ya, don't drive it around, I just got the motor rebuilt and it's not broke in yet"..............WTF

    My co-worker and I (he was helping me) put our heads togeather and worked it out, between us we had the equivalent of about $900.00 into the machine between labour and parts. We knew we were not getting paid, and now the guy doesn't even want us to take a little test ride in it

    WHATEVER

      Well it looked like you were mostly going kinda straight... so.... you could say you didn't actually drive it "around"...

              Define "friend" again

              This may explain it: One of the definitions of a Friend
              one that is not hostile
              Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

                  It's nice to have friends but one that won't haul ass out of bed to work on his own machine should be called something other than friend. Good for you RD and your co-worker for showing him what a FRIEND is. That looked like a pretty good test ride.

                      lol, the reason I edited it was because when I typed it I meant I would have drove it through the bush too, lol. Later when I read it I realized it sounded like I would dump a bunch of money into a friends argo, which I wouldnt do. Sooo.......

                          WTF is right. Maybe you should have let it drive itself into that deep stuff at the end, then showed Sleeping Beauty the video of how well it drove thru the bush before it got there. OOPS
