inexpensive tracks

anybody have any suggestions for inexpensive tracks? if you have pic of home made track those would be very helpful to.

I always thought you could use old tractor tires if you cut v's in the side wall. You could use a couple of chain links to connect both ends just make sure its tight. I would make it pretty tight with the tires aired way down and then fill them up once the tracks are on.

I don't know if you have checked out the latest "Merkley 2010 Winter Ride", video that I posted, but if you do you will see some shots of homemade 15" tracks using standard 15" x 121" snowmobile tracks. We get them from snowmobile wreckers (recyclers) for $5-10 each. You need about 3-5 sections (6 or 8 wheeler) joined by heavy duty piano hinges, and just bend up some steel wheel guides. This is the second guy in our group that has done it and both have many hours of running with no problems. I don't think you can find anything else cheaper that will work.

OMG, I would do the trip to London to pick tracks for 5-10$... here in Montreal, it's more like 100 to 200$
